The largest of the university’s five locations in Australia, the Clayton campus, is located about 12 miles to the southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria. Additionally, Monash University has a campus in Malaysia, a graduate programme in China that is administered in partnership with Southeast University, and a number of other associated international locations. More than 100 different countries send students to Monash. Monash charges a higher tuition for international students, while there are some scholarships available. Student housing is available on-campus at three of the university’s Australian sites. There are various academic departments within the institution, including those that specialise in business, economics, education, engineering, information technology, law, medical, nursing, and the health sciences, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical sciences, and science. English is used as the primary language of instruction at Monash, and the university uses a semester-based academic schedule. Undergraduates have the option to join honours programmes, which provide a fourth year of study that is mostly devoted to research. A bachelor’s honours degree is a more advanced degree in Australia than a bachelor’s degree. With over 100 partner universities spread across more than 25 nations, Monash University has agreements for student exchange. The Monash Injury Research Institute, the Monash Centre for Atomically Thin Materials, and the Monash Sustainable Development Institute are a few of the university’s research centres and institutes.
