Sustainable Innovation looks at breakthroughs from a technological, economic, and sociological
standpoint to help society consume and create more sustainably. The study looks at the design of an
electric automobile, for example, in conjunction with the necessary infrastructure (charging
stations), the market's development, rules and regulations, and the larger consequences on mobility
patterns, urban planning, and climate change. Multiple parties, such as the government, business,
social organizations, knowledge institutes, and consumers, are always involved in this design
process.
