Since its founding in 1975, Linköping University has grown to become one of Sweden’s biggest institutions. To provide education in the sectors of technology and medicine, the government first created a branch of the University of Stockholm in the town of Linköping. Over time, as more faculties and schools were added, Linköping University was established. Currently, Linköping University has four campuses spread over three cities. With four extremely diverse faculties—Medicine and Health Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Educational Sciences, and the Institute of Technology—it has an unusual organisation. Additionally, there are 14 departments, each of which combines expertise and information from many faculties to support interdisciplinary study and research. In addition, Linköping is home to a number of cutting-edge research institutions that are funded by the government and have expertise in areas such organic bioelectronics, hearing and deafness, gender excellence, and disaster medicine. The institution takes great pleasure in its work in the fields of medical, teacher preparation, business, and economics and provides international students with a fantastic opportunity to study in a stimulating interdisciplinary environment. With courses offered in English from the undergraduate level through the PhD level, Linköping University rates highly for both research and education on a global scale thanks to its global outlook. Around a thousand foreign students attend classes at Linköping every year as a result of the university exchange programme, fostering a vibrant, international campus community. Additionally, Linköping University offers more than 20 foreign programmes and accepts students from all around the world.
