RMIT University in Melbourne was founded as a Working Men’s College in 1887 and was officially recognised as a university in 1992. We has a strong emphasis on technology, design, and entrepreneurship. Translation of RMIT’s motto: “A skilled hand, a cultured mind.” There are three campuses in Australia, two in Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City), and one in Barcelona, Spain, where researchers and business partners collaborate. The Old Melbourne Gaol, the Capitol Theatre, and a former magistrates court are among the historic structures on the Melbourne city campus. When RMIT students graduate, they parade through the streets of the city wearing their academic gowns. RMIT, the largest tertiary university in Australia, educates more than 30,000 students, 25% of them are international. The College of Design and Social Context, the College of Business, and the College of Science, Engineering, and Health are the three academic colleges that offer the 23 schools’ courses. In 31 cities across three continents, more than 150 partner institutions are a part of RMIT’s semester exchange programmes. The institution also conducts a programme that pairs industry experts with current students for one-on-one guidance. Six key values guide RMIT. These include enthusiasm, influence, inclusivity, adaptability, bravery, and creativity. About half of Melbourne’s 4 million residents were born outside of Australia, making it a global metropolis. The lure of nature exists in addition to the city’s pubs, restaurants, galleries, museums, and parks. Students with the means can travel further away, although the Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island in the state of Victoria are both well-liked tourist destinations.
