Ukrainian Catholic University

The Ukrainian Catholic University is an open academic community that was founded by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in 1994. It follows the Eastern Christian tradition and develops leaders to serve with excellence in Ukraine and abroad for the glory of God, the common good, and human dignity. UCU provides evidence that it is possible to combine academic rigour with religious affiliation, professional training and ethical instruction, intellectual devotion and service to the underprivileged. Being a Catholic university, UCU works to put the message of the Gospel into practise by engaging its community in service to the impoverished, mentally disabled, homeless, orphans, and displaced and abandoned. In order to help young people face the world and their place in it with joy, appreciation, responsibility, spiritual strength, and freedom, UCU wants to provide them with a life-changing tale. The University is dedicated to integral human development as a goal, a language, and a means of transforming society in response to escalating global complexity, informed by Catholic Social Thought and in light of the Gospel.
