University of Agriculture in Krakow is the only agricultural university in Poland. The history of the university started in 1890 when it was the part of the Jagiellonian University where agricultural and forest sciences developed. Nowadays, the structure of the University of Agriculture consists of 7 faculties and a scientific veterinary center UJ-UR, which is held in cooperation with the Jagiellonian University. Educational proposal of the university is represented by programs taught in Polish and English in 32 areas of study. More than 1400 people work in the university including more than 100 professors. More than 13000 students study on stationary and extramural forms of study. Agricultural University trains specialists in the following areas: agriculture, forestry, biology, animal sciences, veterinary, environmental protection, biotechnology, environmental engineering, food technology, mechanical engineering, economics, and management. Approximately 3000 of new students enter the university every year. University of Agriculture in Krakow offers its students ERASMUS and CEEPUS exchange programs providing the possibility to acquire valuable experience. The University of Agriculture features three campuses close to Krakow’s city centre, four contemporary dorms with a total of 1560 beds, a library, and canteens that offer ideal living and learning environments for students. The university is improved on a regular basis.
