The University of Łódź was established on May 24, 1945, just a few weeks after the end of the Second World War in Europe. We are formed through an amalgamation of the educational institutes operating in Łódź and today it is a highly regarded university in Poland. The university has 12 faculties dispersed around Lódz, the third-largest city in Poland. The university’s campus is home to numerous dorms for students, as well as cutting-edge sports venues and a wide range of entertainment opportunities. One of the biggest academic libraries in Central Europe, with a collection of almost three million books, is located at the University of Lódz. The University of Lodz’s philosophy places a strong emphasis on international ties, and as a result, the university has agreements in place with more than 200 institutions of higher learning worldwide. The university is also a participant in the Erasmus student exchange programme. Ten universities throughout the world, including ones in France, Finland, Germany, and the United States, have cooperation agreements with the university that allow University of Lódz students to earn dual diplomas.
