1. This is a higher educational institution, which with an enviable constancy is included in the list of TOP 10 best in the country, and also often in the list TOP of the best at the global level.
2. The students have access to a huge university library, as well as a rooom in a hostel. The university is constantly evolving and willingly sharing its experience, as evidenced by its entry into reputable groups and communities, including the University of Mons Association.
3.UMONS has established a number of new structures with the goal of enhancing educational quality and accessibility for underprivileged students, such as the Educational Support Department (SAP). New initiatives like educational assessments of teaching, remedial measures implemented for first-year students (promoting achievement), coaching and guiding students in need, and staff activity reports that take into account teaching loads and scientific criteria all support and strengthen their actions.
4. The non-profit association Les Cèdres analyzes the material, educational, social, cultural, medical and psychological needs of the student and establishes, in consultation with him, an individualized support plan.
5. A series of steps have been put in place by UMONS to guarantee top-notch research. It has created the Department for Research Support and Technology Transfer (AVRE) to support researchers in creating efficient research. UMONS has established a number of institutes to facilitate cross-disciplinary research teams’ exposure and collaboration. A new project has also been started, such as the creation of an institutional repository, which is encouraged by incentives such the inclusion of publications from the repository in the evaluation of candidate files and rewards for successfully defended theses.
6. UMONS has increased the number of English-language courses it provides, established the Center for Modern Languages (CLV), and expanded the responsibilities of the International Relations Office as part of its internationalisation strategy (SRI). A number of programmes are now in place to encourage the mobility of researchers and students. These include the English and conversation classes that the CLV offers to staff and students, as well as the French language programmes that are available to international students.
7. Additionally, several faculties provide language programmes that result in globally recognised credentials (e.g. TOEIC). Additionally, there are mobility funds available to encourage all students—even the most disadvantaged ones—to participate in international exchange programmes while they are in school (e.g. ERASMUS and TIME).
