At the University of Rousse, numerous eminent authorities in a wide range of disciplines of competence have part- and full-time teaching jobs. Student accommodation, as well as recreational and athletic facilities, are available to all students who wish to use them. The European Commission selected the University of Ruse for the TEMPUS initiative, which brings together 18 universities from 11 Central European nations that have excelled at reforming higher education. It regularly participates in both the European Universities Association (EUA) and the Danube Rectors’ Conference (DRC). It participates in the CEEPUS, SOCRATES, and LEONARDO DA VINCI projects. To show that the institution was founded and built to be of modern, European calibre, it seeks to gain international recognition. Teams from the “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse are implementing more than 250 multilateral and bilateral international agreements in the domains of science and education, more than 200 of which fall under the Erasmus Program. In addition, agreements with partners from around 40 countries in Europe, Asia, and America are included under 20 worldwide projects for cooperation. Annual participation in international training and practical forums ranges from 450 to 520 instructors, staff, students, and doctorate students, with student mobility continuously increasing. Only through the Erasmus programme do between 70 and 100 students travel each year.
