The Ternopil Branch of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy’s Financial and Economic Faculty was the initial name of the Western Ukrainian National University when it was established in 1966. The branch split out to form an independent faculty a year later, and it became the Ternopil Financial and Economic Institute in 1971. The institution received full university status in 2005 and changed its name to Ternopil National Economic University. Its new name, West Ukrainian National University, was adopted in 2020. One of the biggest cities in western Ukraine, Ternopil, is where the institution is situated. The Ternopil city is home to three different university branches: the Lutsk, Sambir, and Svaliava campuses. The university is divided into five divisions: the faculties of law, computer information technology, finance and accounting, humanities and social sciences, and economics and management. A variety of undergraduate and graduate courses are offered by each faculty. The institution conducts cutting-edge research initiatives all year round. The Education and Research Institute of Bioresources and Environmental Management, the Education and Research Institute of Innovative Educational Technologies, and the Education and Research Institute of Creative Studies are just a few of the research centres at the university that help to make these projects possible.
