Wroclaw Medical University was founded when Prussian king Frederik Wilhelm II moved Viadrina University (Frankfurt) to Wroclaw in 1811. The university is one of Poland’s top institutions for studying medicine. Candidates have found it to be quite popular for medical research. The institution currently offers instruction in ten fields of study to more than 6000 students, including medicine and dentistry, pharmacy, dietetics, medical analysis, emergency medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, public health, and obstetrics. The English Division (ED) was founded in the year 2003. However, the Polish Division’s curriculum is the same. Specialists with high levels of education and training teach in universities. In the theoretical disciplines, tutorial groups of approximately 10 to 12 students are formed to concentrate more on individuals. According to calculations, there were 837 students in the English Division (ED) at the institution in 2018–19, of whom 143 were enrolled in the Faculty of Dentistry and 694 in the Faculty of Medicine. Since science today knows no borders, researchers at Wroclaw Medical University are creating new fields of study and managing three highly esteemed grants funded by the European Commission (two under SECURE, BETA-3, and Horizon 2020 Program).
